Prague Beer and Culinary Tour
The beauty of Prague isn’t just on the outside; you’re as likely to find it inside the city’s many beer halls. This three-hour evening tour will take you to five of the best in town so you can savour some of the brews that have made Czech beer a byword for excellence. Our guide will bring you the district of Zizkov, which has the highest concentration of beer halls and is where many locals socialise away from the old town tourist haunts. . You will savour the atmosphere and beer at the U Sadu, which has been voted the most popular beer hall in the city. . Then we’ll move on to the legendary U Pinkasu, where the Pilsner Urquell draught was first tasted in 1843. Try a Pilsner Urquell sourced from a tank, not a keg, which gives it a superior taste as it contains less CO2. This is the kind of niche beer you would rarely be able to try at home. We’ll have dinner here, with the option of either a traditional Czech beef goulash with dumplings or a vegetarian dinner, washed down, of course, with a Pilsner Urquell. . Two microbreweries will come up next on the radar, including one dating from 1466. Here you will be able to admire some cosmetics made from beer. . The last port of call is The Pub, where you will be able to tap your own beer and enjoy a glass of Gambrinus Excelent 11°, which is made from caramel malt. Languages: English.

Private-Terezin
Delve into one of the darkest chapters of the Czech Republic’s history with this visit to Terezin, site of the notorious Theresienstadt concentration camp. Located north of Prague this former medieval fortress was used by the Nazis during World War II to perpetrate their sickening crimes. Constructed in the 18th century by the Habsburg Monarchy, the building originally served as a fortress that could hold up to 11,000 soldiers during war time. As you will hear during the tour, this number pales into comparison when you think about the hundreds of thousands of mainly Jewish prisoners who were squeezed into the camp to suffer atrocious conditions during the war. Although not an extermination camp, the treatment of prisoners was nevertheless barbaric and many thousands died here. Enter and wander through the barracks, courtyards and rooms of the prisoners and see the hardship the inmates had to endure. Everything has been preserved as it was to remind future generations of the appalling crimes committed by some on their fellow human beings. Also visit the Ghetto Museum and the Museum of Magdeburg to understand more about this tragic period of history and learn of the daily life of the prisoners in the camp. Stop at the crematorium and pause to contemplate the rows of innocent victims whose final resting place was to be found far from their family and friends. Please be aware that you will hear many harrowing stories during this striking and thought-provoking tour.
