Konopiste and Karlstejn Castles

 

During this day-long tour you will visit two unique gems among the castles of the Czech Republic, both located just outside of Prague. First we will visit and tour the Konopiste Castle, situated some 45 km from Prague. The castle was founded in the 13th century and is well renowned for its fascinating collection of antique weaponry and furniture. After this stop, we will continue westwards to the historical Karlstejn Castle. In the 14th century Charles IV, King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor, had this gothic monument built as a depository for the Empire crown jewels and relics of the saints. It boasts incomparable history and breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
