Exclusive Casa Vicens Tour: Gaudí´s First Masterpiece
This guided tour will take you to discover the first house built by Antoni Gaudí, a house with an unusual oriental and Mudejar aroma, covered with spectacular green and white tiles. The building is the prelude to Gaudi’s body of work and hints at the future of Art Nouveau (Modernisme) in Catalonia. Casa Vicens was built as a summer house between 1883 and 1885; it was designed by the 31-year-old Gaudí for Manel Vicens i Montaner (1836-1895), a broker-dealer. It is Gaudí’s first building in Barcelona where he was able to display his enormous talent. In Casa Vicens, Gaudí recreated the figurative worlds that were fashionable at the time, but in a highly personal way. The house is built following Catalan construction traditions, which the architect interpreted in unexpected ways, while he also incorporated his own decorative and symbolic elements. As a whole, it heralds and displays the creative freedom that would become the hallmark of his entire life’s work. In addition to being one of the starting points of Gaudí’s career, the architect created an innovative, original work in Casa Vicens which is different from anything that had been built in Catalonia before. Casa Vicens thus became one of the first examples of the aesthetic renewal of art and architecture that was taking place all around Europe in the late 19th century. It is the eighth building in Barcelona listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the last to be opened to the public. The visit ends at Casa Vicens. Located in the quiet neighborhood of Gracia which is well connected with public transport. Languages English

Park Güell - Early Access
Meet the popular Güell Park, which has over 100 years of history, with an early access to avoid crowds. Highlights - Essential knowledge - History of the Church - Tradition of dedication to the Saints - Impressive architecture The origin of this park starts from 1900. When Barcelona was a modern and cosmopolitan metropolis, the engineer Ildefons Cerdà studied in depth the difficulties of the modern city growth, Barcelona expanded very rapidly throughout the second half of the 19th century. Its central area began to take shape as a large bourgeois centre. The Universal Exhibition of 1888 promoted the search for a new artistic language and urban representation. The main architectural feature of the park is based on the art nouveau, this form of art began to spread from Glasgow to Brussels and then to Barcelona recovering former construction techniques such as the Catalan vault (or timbrel vault) and old craft styles, while at the same time taking an interest in the expressive potential of iron. There’s no doubt that on top of being one of the most vibrant, exciting and sophisticated cities in Europe, Barcelona is also a rock ‘n’ roll Mecca. Like all great revolutions, the Hard Rock Cafe wasn’t meant to succeed. It was 1971 and as the Swinging Sixties had given way to the Super Seventies, fashions and tastes were changing. Two hungry young Americans were in London and couldn’t find a decent place to eat a decent burger… so they opened up a joint in the English capital. Their landlord didn’t think it would last and gave them just a six-month lease. Four decades later, there almost 200 Hard Rock Cafes in more than 50 countries worldwide. The first T-shirt hit the streets in ‘74 and the first piece of memorabilia came, fittingly, by chance in ‘79 when Eric Clapton asked to hang his Lead II Fender guitar over his favourite bar stool and thus mark as his spot. Today, the rock 'n' roll collection has more than 74,000 pieces and is the largest of its kind. By 1982, the Hard Rock Cafe had gone global and the rest, as they say, is history (that’s still being written)! Choose from one of the following menus: GOLD MENU MAINS Original Legendary® Burger Fresh Black Angus steak burger, with smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, crispy onion ring, leaf lettuce and vine-ripened tomato, served with our signature steak sauce and seasoned fries on the side.
