Thames lunch cruise
Glide down the Thames and see the wealth of landmarks that flank its banks while enjoying a delicious two-course lunch. Highlights - Enjoy a lunch with a difference in surroundings that change by the minute - See all of London’s top landmarks The route from Westminster to Greenwich is a journey through London’s past, taking you from the heart of the city and its Roman origins as Londinium, to the docklands from where it opened out to the world and became the nerve centre of a global trading empire. The cruise lasts just under two hours and features a menu with traditional English favourites. Along the way, pass such sights as Big Ben and Palace of Westminster, the Coca-Cola London Eye giant Ferris wheel and the site of first Roman crossing of the River Thames. Pass also the tallest building in Western Europe, the 87-storey Shard, and the glistening skyscrapers of the Canary Wharf financial district. Enjoy an intriguing snapshot of the importance of the sea to London’s history as you sail passed a full-size reconstruction of the Golden Hinde, the galleon used by 16th century pirate Francis Drake, and get a close-up view of a genuine WWII warship, the HMS Belfast. The lunch includes a main course of thyme, rosemary lemon-roasted supreme of chicken with creamy leek, tarragon and mushroom sauce served with Dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Dessert is white, dark and milk chocolate truffle cake with raspberry sauce. Coffee and tea are included. There is also a children’s menu with roast chicken with penne pasta and the same dessert. The vegetarian menu includes a main course of baked field mushroom filled with artichokes, asparagus and crème fraiche wrapped in lattice pastry served with Dauphinoise potato and seasonal vegetables. The dessert is a white, dark and milk chocolate truffle cake with raspberry sauce. Tea and coffee are also included.

In fact an almost endless supply if that's what takes your fancy. And if the mood takes you, perhaps a glass of something bubbly? Camden is one of the most vibrant, interesting and ‘happening’ boroughs in London. There’s a myth held that Camden is only visited because of its markets — but while the markets are a big reason why most people visit the area, Camden has a lot more to offer. It has a vibrant music scene with venues like Barfly and the famous Koko club. It’s no wonder that street art started to appear in this bohemian area a few years ago! On this Camden tour, you’ll see great murals by some of London’s leading street artists, as well as pieces by international artists — all in all, we’ll take in more than 100 pieces of street art, and by the end of the tour, you’ll see Camden as a dynamic canvas where artists leave their creative marks. You’ll learn how an art form that was once considered vandalism now creatively represents the personalities of cities all around the world. This tour is for people who want to see what is not in the guidebooks. We will show you great art, the local neighbourhood, and the people of this city. Find out why London is a street art capital frequently visited by urban artists who are eager to leave their mark. You will become familiar with graffiti terms and unwritten codes like the rules for painting over someone’s work, and what a ‘tag’ is. You’ll also learn how artists from all over the world can paint in London with the aid of ‘wall organisers.’ We will highlight the difference between street art and graffiti and explain how public art can benefit local communities. All our guides are very active on the London street art scene, and are a mix of photographers, bloggers, wall organisers who source legal spaces for artists, or a combination of all of these — giving them the perfect insight for answering all your street art questions! Meeting/pick-up point: Outside Camden Town tube station. Duration: 2 hours. Start/opening time: 10:55am. End/closing time: 12:55pm. Languages: English.
