Its vibrant freshness, elegance, lightness and aromatic and flavorful expressions, especially its fruity and floral notes, are the characteristics that define and differentiate Vinho Verde. We will pick you up at your hotel (in Porto or in Vila Nova de Gaia) and travel through the Douro Valley to Galafura, a small village in the heart of the Douro Valley. Our first stop is in Amarante. This city becomes very important in history after the arrival of S. Gonçalo (1187-1259) - one of the most renowned saints in Christian history, who settled here after his pilgrimage through Rome and Jerusalem, making this city an important stop religious in Portugal. You can visit the convent and the church, but also the beautiful bridge and the historic center. The trip continues towards Galafura, a small village near Peso da Régua. On the way stop to see the Miradouro de São Leonardo de Galafura near Covelinhas, parish of Galafura. From the top of its 640 meters high has a privileged view over the river Douro and the surrounding landscape. This is one of the highlights of your day! Be sure to bring your camera and do not miss anything! You will also find here a geodesic landmark, as this is the highest place in the region. We will surprise you by the splendor of its baroque library and musical and university traditions. Still in Coimbra, we will visit the Church of Santa Clara, in whose shrine of silver and crystal rests the beloved Queen Santa Isabel, famous for the miracle of roses. Strolling through the city center, you can admire the ceramics of Coimbra. Free time for lunch. During the afternoon, we will continue to Aveiro, a city crossed by canals, and, therefore, known as the "Venice of Portugal".
