Oceanoarium Lisboa
Twenty two years since its opening, the Oceanário de Lisboa has already received over 25 million visitors. Looking at the initiatives and successive objectives achieved, the Oceanário is a national and international reference of ocean conservation, culture, leisure, entertainment and education. Every year, around one and a half million visitors visit its exhibitions, making it the most visited attraction in Portugal. The imposing central aquarium, with around five million liters of water, represents the Global Ocean, housing more than one hundred species from four oceans. Around it, four marine habitats are represented (North Atlantic, Antarctic, Temperate Pacific and Tropical Indian) creating the illusion of looking at a single aquarium, one ocean. The visit takes place on two levels, the terrestrial and the underwater, crossing the temperate, tropical and cold waters of the different oceans of the planet. Besides de the central aquarium, there are two more exhibitions: - "Forests Underwater" by Takashi Amano presents the tropical forests and their aquatic systems through the largest and most stunning "nature aquarium" in the world. - "ONE - The Ocean as you never felt it" by Maya de Almeida Araújo is an artistic installation portrays the deep connection between humans and the sea, while invoking the grandeur of the ocean.

Fado Show
Immerse yourself in the heart and soul of Lisbon as you learn about the grass roots culture of this fascinating city with the unforgettable show: Fado in Chiado Highlights - Listen to the soulful sounds of the Fado - Admire images of Lisbon as it was in times gone by - Discover Fado, listed by UNESCO as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity The Chiado, known as the Montmartre of Lisbon, is an elegant and bohemian neighbourhood located between the quarters of Bairro Alto and Baixa Pombalina, centred around the Praça do Chiado and the main arteries of Largo do Carmo where you can see the ruins of the church of the same name, and the Rua Garret. It was completely rebuilt after a massive fire in 1988. The area occupies a special space in Portuguese culture and is one of the most important and traditional areas of old Lisbon. The Theatro is the heart of this soulful neighbourhood, a place where, every day for an hour, you can hear and feel the sound of the soul of a people through live singing and guitar music, while you contemplate images of the past of this fascinating city. The sober staging and eager voices of young Fado singers and performers of the Portuguese guitar make this an ideal venue to enjoy this soulful music. It is said that the Fado is the place where the Portuguese national traits of saudade (longing), pride, hope and resignation come together in a musical style of which Amália Rodrigues was perhaps the most important figure. For these unique features, Fado has now been listed by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Discover Fado in Chiado and touch the soul of Lisbon.

This is where you come to for the best burgers in town and the greatest collection of rock memorabilia in the Portuguese capital. It was 1971 and as the Swinging Sixties had given way to the Super Seventies, fashions and tastes were changing. Two hungry young Americans were in London and couldn’t find a decent place to eat a decent burger… so they opened up a joint in the English capital. Their landlord didn’t think it would last and gave them just a six-month lease. Four decades later, there almost 200 Hard Rock Cafes in more than 50 countries worldwide. The first T-shirt hit the streets in ‘74 and the first piece of memorabilia came, fittingly, by chance in ‘79 when Eric Clapton asked to hang his Lead II Fender guitar over his favourite bar stool and thus mark as his spot. Today, the rock 'n' roll collection has more than 74,000 pieces and is the largest of its kind. By 1982, the Hard Rock Cafe had gone global and the rest, as they say, is history (that’s still being written)!
