Stroll through Dublin's most iconic and beautiful pubs and discover the importance of beer in Irish culture. Indulge in pub culture and tour Dublin's most iconic venues with the Temple Bar Tour, Irish Pubs history, a must see for the most important Irish pubs in the area for its antiquity, style and history. As we walk around the city, our Spanish-speaking guide will tell us anecdotes and curiosities to understand the important role that pubs play in the daily life of the Irish and their passion for bars. We will also learn a bit more about whiskey and beer, mainly from the famous Guinness black beer. We will start with the traditional Irish pub, knowing its many years of history; continuing through the Victorian style pub and its numerous ornamental details. We will also see the famous wall of fame, with portraits of U2, Van Morrison and Sinnead O'Connor, and the corner of Temple Bar, the flagship of the neighborhood. We will enjoy the best live music from a brewery-inspired pub, ending our explanation at the well-known and fun Celtic-style pub. What will you discover? What does "craic" mean to an Irishman? Why do funerals in Ireland end up in a bar with a round of beers? Where does the Irish's passion for bars and beer come from? Why the name "porter" (black beer)? How does the English pub differ from the Irish pub? Why was beer thought to have healing powers in the middle ages? What alcoholic drink was called "water of life"? What does "pub" really mean? And who were his true creators? Why did some pubs have such flashy names as "The Blue Leg" or "The Flying Horse"? What is the most photographed corner of Dublin? The Book of Kells Admission
The Book of Kells was created around the year 800 AD and researchers believe that it was originally produced in a monastery on the island of Iona off the coast of Scotland. It appears to have been created by three artists and four scribes. When Iona was attacked by Vikings, the surviving monks moved to a sister monastery in Kells, Co. Meath. Some scholars believe that it was here that the Book of Kells was finished. The Book of Kells remained in the town of Kells until 1653 when it was moved to Dublin after the town suffered serious damage during the military occupation in the wars of the 17th century. The Old Library building, which houses the Long Room, was opened in 1732. The Long Room has been a working library since then and students and researchers from Ireland and around the world continue to consult the volumes of books it houses to this day.

Glendalough, Wicklow and Kilkenny Tour - Including Sheepdog Trails
Depart Dublin for a packed day where we will take you on a journey that includes natural beauty, ancient monastic sites, and a Viking city. Glendalough The area is renowned for its magnificent scenery and rich and varied heritage. Here you will have time to explore the ruined monastic city that dates back to the 10th century. Marvel at the stunning lakes and natural beauty and see why this area is referred to as the Garden of Ireland. Used in the wedding scene of the classic ‘“Braveheart” movie Glendalough and the surrounding area will capture your heart and mind forever. Sheepdog Trials The farmer's dog uses a direct stare at sheep, known as "the eye", to intimidate while herding at a trial. A sheepdog trial is a competitive dog sport in which herding dogs move sheep around a field, fences, gates, or enclosures as directed by their handlers. Here our local shepherd and his trusty Collie dog will exhibit their technique to you. With any luck, there might be a few pups or lambs about for you to stroke. Wicklow mountains Enjoy a scenic drive through the Wicklow mountains and enjoy spectacular views of the Irish landscapes. We will stop along the way for you to stretch your legs and to take a few pictures. Kilkenny City Built on the banks of the River Nore, the town of Kilkenny’s narrow, winding streets lend it an atmosphere of old-world charm; its terraces of handsome Georgian houses give it elegance; and with all this, it remains a bustling modern town and market center for a fertile agricultural area. Take a walk along the Medieval Mile, a scenic discovery trail linking many of the top sights of the city. Kilkenny Castle Perched at a strategic height, Kilkenny Castle dominates the "High Town" of Kilkenny City. After many facelifts over the centuries, today Kilkenny Castle exhibits a blend of architectural styles. In the early thirteenth century, the original Anglo-Norman stone castle was constructed for the 4th Earl of Pembroke before becoming the main Irish residence of the powerful Butler family for almost 600 years. Enjoy a free video presentation of the castle’s history and take in the splendour of the castle and rose gardens Languages English
