HISTORY OF CANYONING ON CETINA RIVER The story goes back to 1999 when a team of young climbers and nature lovers launched a first adventure race in Croatia named Cro Challenge. The same year they established an association for adventure sports caled ‘Spirit’. One day during the preparation of the race they came across stunning canyon of Cetina river in the vicinity of Zadvarje village. This trip offers a more exciting and stronger experience of Cetina river canyon than just basic canyoning. Together with walking and swimming through the canyon, it consists of two rope lowerings down a cliff. If you have a couple of days in the Split, this could be a trip that you are looking for. Krka NP is one of two Croatian NP`s that contain lakes and waterfalls. The summary would be: A total of 5hrs inside of the Krka NP at two locations with exceptional views and scenery, boat ride, swimming inside of the Krka River and an extra visit to local family food and wine tavern (agrotourism). We are taking you to 2 locations of exceptional natural value inside of the NP with an included boat ride down the river canyon. But let`s start with the plan. Enjoy a 1 hour and a 30-minute drive to Entrance Lozovac as this is the best place to start the 2km walk around the Skradinski Buk waterfall (Relaxing walk downhill as the views are building up). Pass through the old water mill system as our guide explains part of the history and traditions in this area. Then continue this amazing walk on the wooden pathway with little lakes and waterfalls everywhere around. This truly is one of the most preserved ecosystems in Croatia. After 2h30 minutes at Skradinski Buk, we continue our journey with a boat ride down the river canyon to our second location inside of the NP, the lovely little town of Skradin. In this lower part of the stream, we have an opportunity during the hot summer days to cool down with a nice swim inside of the Krka River.
