After breakfast, we will start our guided tour along Route 11 towards Los Glaciares National Park. We will pass by the edge of the main body of Argentino Lake and move on towards the branch called Rico. We will stop at the entrance of the National Park in order to pay the admission fee and, once inside the park, we will go to “Curva de los Suspiros” (“Curve of Sighs”), where we will get off the vehicle in order to see the Perito Moreno Glacier for the first time. Further on, we will stop at the Muelle Bajo las Sombras (Pier Under the Shadows) so that those who are willing to go sailing can get closer to the southern wall of the Glacier (optional). Then we will move on to the front catwalks of the glacier, where we will watch it from different balconies and enjoy our free time by appreciating the various detachments. Return to El Calafate.

Once the break is over we will continue along the Lake Viedma, from here we can take in the magical views of glaciers, hidden lakes and the glory that is Mount Fitz Roy. After several photos stops we will then arrive to Andean village El Chalten, also known as the The Capital of the Trekking'. As soon as we arrive we will briefly visit the Interpretation Centre and then the group will be divided according their chosen option at our base - The Pudu Lodge. We will advise you several options according to your physical condition and provide you of a map and a packed box to carry in your backpack. This is perfect for the independent traveler; the clearly-marked tracks can make anyone feel like an expert. Around 17:30 pm we will return with the rest of the group to the base to enjoy a delicious hot chocolate at Pudu Lodge. Leaving from Calafate we take the provincial route Nº11 that, during the first 40 km, it runs besides the main body of the Argentino Lake. In this part of the tour we enjoy panoramic views of the lake and the stepperian landscape. Once in Los Glaciares National Park, we drive through the Magallanic forest up to the end of the road, where we find the balconies and walkways. The idea of this excursion is to spend some time walking around the balconies, enjoying the different views of the glacier and having your lunch. For having lunch you have access to a restaurant or snack bar (for fast food). After lunch you will board on the catamaran to navigate the Rico Arm, which lets you appreciate the icebergs from the Perito Moreno Glacier ice walls. The boat paces at a reasonable distance from the glacier allowing to appreciate the fallings of ice blocks from the ice wall. It takes one hour and gives the possibility to see a completely different view of unbelievable formations and colours of the Glacier. Languages English and Spanish

We will pick you up around 7:30am and will undertake the journey of 50 Km to Punta Bandera, where the boat departs at 9 o’clock. The first part of the excursion is in the northern arm of Lake Argentino across the Boca del Diablo, the narrowest part of the lake, then you will go to the Upsala channel and the Spegazzini channel where you will be able to see, at the end of each channel, the respective glaciers. The navigation runs between spectacular icebergs of immense size and varied forms. From the boat you will see, among others, the Upsala and the Spegazzini glaciers. Departing from Bajo de la Sombra Port, we will arrive at the world-famous Perito Moreno Glacier approximately 5 miles from our departure point. Upon arrival, enjoy a 40-minute walk across the Rico Arm to reach the glacier. We will then be given crampons (special metal spikes worn on boots for traction). Then the adventure really begins with a fascinating 2 hour walk across the glacier. At the end of the walk, we will be offered to toast to our adventure with a glass of whiskey paired with ice from the glacier. Once finished we will make our way back on a road that cuts between a forest of lengas and the pier. Crossing the Rico Arm again, we will be lead to the footbridge in front of the glacier. For one last glance at the Perito Moreno Glacier. After a quick 20-minute sail, you'll reach the opposite shore and the base of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Here, the guides will help you pick out a crampon, special metal spikes worn on your boots for traction. Then, your adventure begins as you hike along the Rico Arm to reach the glacier. With your crampons fastened, head out for the real adventure as you embark on a 1.5 hour walk across the glacier. Your guide will be there to tell you about the famous Perito Moreno Glacier while trekking. Finish up your adventure as you cross the Rico Arm again, which leads you to a footbridge located in front of the glacier for one last glance at the beautiful glacier. Then, make your way back to the road that cuts between the forest of lengas and the pier. Board a bus that will take you to the glacier's viewpoint and footbridges, where you have an hour to enjoy before heading back to your hotel.

Throughout your nine hour excursion, in a group of not more than 20 persons, you will experience the wonders of a glacier hike, as you discover the Andean forest and take an exhilarating ice walk. The trek will begin with a departure from El Calafate and a moderate descent to the footbridges of the Perito Moreno Glacier, arriving to Puerto las Sombras. Lose yourself in the beauty of the natural surroundings as the trek continues to the south wall and puts you in sight of the Canal de los Tempanos, and finally to the other side of the Brazo Rico. Here you will come to a refuge and the beginning of the footpath which will lead to the base of the glacier. In small groups, enjoy a brief 20 minute walk through the Andean forest, before getting a burst of adrenaline as you are equipped and prepared to make your way across the ice. Take this hour and 40 minutes to savor your rugged, picturesque surroundings. Afterwards, return to the mountain refuge to refuel with a boxed lunch brought from El Calafate, before you begin your trek back to your starting point. Returning along the footbridges of the Perito Moreno Glacier, you will get another dose of the beauty of the landscape, stopping for an hour, before the return to El Calafate.
